AMARANTOS

I walked across the meadow
To find a lovely flower
With nectar in its rosy petal
And fragrance in its bower

Its redness touched the heart of mine
And brought sweet memories long
Of love, of life, of passion sweet
And all my that did belong

And then there was a violet blue
With bees murmuring by
Its peacefulness gave me a calm
Which was as vast as sky

The green leaves nurturing life divine
Were fresh and bright with dew
That sight alone did bless my eye
With all things pure and true

A sunflower blew in the wind
Its yellow charm in air
And turning towards the glowing sun
It's songs of joy I hear

The whole landscape was woven
With flowers orange and gold
The colours of the setting sun
So blissful to behold

With beauty natural so very true
Brimming of colourful mirth
These flowers crown the nature queen
And a rainbow on this earth.

LIFE

It's a flower which blossoms
With its fragrance in the air
Its beauty shining in light
Its movement like a prayer

The day recedes by
the night envelopes the sun
the blooming flower bows down
Though its life did just begun

it's the light of a firefly
glowing in the dark
a moment of its shining
Bequeathing eternal mark

A look away from the glow
And lo! The fires gone
So eternal as it did seem
Was dead before it born

It's a bubble which rises
From a tiny spot in air
An ocean worth inside it
Flowing in shiny layer

How beautiful how real
Its vacuum inside so calm
And when you try and grasp it
There is nothing in your palm.
